The biggest sale of the summer is almost here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You may be asking... What is the Nordstrom Anniversary sale? Is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale worth it and when is it? This sale is as big as Amazon Prime Day, and I wanted to be able to give you all the best of the best information on the sale and how you can be prepared to shop this year.
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Typically end of summer sales happen to clear out inventory, but the Nordstrom sale includes brand new merchandise being marked down the day it releases! All Fall releases are discounted majorly before the season even starts. It's the perfect opportunity to snag sweaters, cardigans, booties, jackets and more. It truly is like Christmas in July! After the sale, all prices will go back up to full price the rest of the season.
Starting in 2020, Nordstrom has been releasing an online catalogue/early preview window that you are able to browse beginning June 29th through July 6th right before the sale goes live to Icon cardholders and down the line until the Public Access begins,
When is Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022?
The sale always runs in order of highest status cardmembers, to the general public. Below I've listed the dates of when cardmembers can begin to shop as well as the general public. To see what card member status you have, just log into your Nordy account.
If you sign up for a card now before the sale begins, you will be entitled to receive a $60 bonus note to use during the sale! (approval required) Notes are basically a coupon that are used like a giftcard. The Nordstrom card is the key! All you have to to is apply for the FREE credit card HERE. A few years ago I made sure to get a card just so I could shop the sale early.
How do I get early access?
If you are a Nordstrom cardmember or apart of the Nordy Club, you get to shop the sale first! This is extremely crucial for the sale because stuff always sells out within the first few days. The Nordy Club is free to join, plus you get early access! You can also check your staus, here. Last year, there were a ton of items that were never even restocked unless it was returned. I had a hard time getting many of the items I wanted.
Is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Worth It?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is best time of year to take advantage of new items as we transition from Summer to Fall. Nordstrom is a huge trendsetter for the fall season with this sale, and then many retailers then follow the trends. Basically if you see something you think you'll wear in October, grab it now in July when it's much cheaper. After the sale, all prices go up to full price. Literally I've seen $150 pieces down to like $49 the day they launch!!

Over the years I've collected tons of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale items I love, and still wear. These few items are typically in the sale every year.
BAREFOOT DREAMS CARDIGAN:
These cardigans run true to size. High quality and super soft. Warm enough for the winter with thin material, but the perfect amount of cozy for summer nights. I wear this all year round!
SPANX FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS:
In my opinion, these are only worth it when they're on sale. However, I LOVE them! Wouldn't pay $98 for them, but love them for $64! The compression is amazing so they suck everything in. I love that they have no crotch seam either for camel toe. Lastly, the sheen is just gorgeous. Doesn't look plastic-y like I've seen other leather leggings look.
FREE PEOPLE SWEATERS
Every year I love to buy new Free People sweaters at a deep discount. Typically, they don't go on sale again until the season changes, so I like to stock up. The Swim Too Deep Turtleneck has been in a few years in a row, and I've gotten it in 3 colors, I love it so much. It's so oversized and cozy. I recommend sizing down 1-2. I'm wearing Small.
